“I ordered the tortilla soup and combo #7 which consists of 1 chicken taco, 1 chorizo chimichanga, 2 beef enchiladas, Mexican rice, and salad.” says Xena W
Meals are served with complimentary tortilla chips and 2 dips.
Service is quick and friendly, the fiesta vibe is very cheerful, the food is amazing, and portions are generous. Come with an appetite! Would definitely recommend La Casita if you’re looking for some tasty Mexican food in Gastown.

“Great find! The food was so fresh and amazing” says Shally J.
We stumbled upon this place one afternoon while roaming the streets of Gastown looking for the London Drugs drugstore. Great find! The food was so fresh and amazing. We got quesadillas for my 2 little kids. It was made of corn tortillas. These were so good, that it reminded me of fresh maki ki roti (a famous Indian flat bread made of corn) that my mother made when we were having the popular Punjabi dish sarsoon da saag & maki di roti.
Anyway, besides that, we got the enchiladas and flautas, and everything was vegetarian, and just sooo good. Very flavorful. We finished everything! And were seriously debating getting another order of quesadillas for later. But didn’t because we were going to leave that same night so it would have gone bad.
“Great menu, we all settled for appetizers” says Dominic K
After fireworks on new years me and a few friends wanted to grab a bite and drink before going home. Almost everywhere was closed, a few that were open had huge lineups. While walking Gastown we found this gem. Neat corner location, and cool sign. Upbeat music, complimentary chips and dip. Great menu, we all settled for appetizers. I had the Texas nachos and highly recommended. Huge portion to more than justify the price. It’s big enough to eat as a main if you wish. And of course they have the Mexican beers. Service was good, id come here again.
“The soup was just as delicious as I had remembered it” says Lisa Marie M.
Vancouver doesn’t get super cold in the winter very often. I also don’t eat soup much as I don’t like anything overly saucy. However there are a few exceptions, such as Tortilla soup. When it’s cold I find this is an excellent thing to eat to warm myself up with. I had been here before and had the Super Tortilla soup which was so good, it was the perfect choice that day.
First thing I saw on the menu was ceviche -I absolutely love ceviche, so we had to order one and it was amazing !
I haven’t had ceviche that good since Mexico or Las Vegas. It didn’t have fish in it ( which I hate ) it was straight up prawns with lime juice, cucumber, pico de gallo & topped with avocado. Served with Tortilla chips. So delicious!
The soup was just as delicious as I had remembered it. The broth is tasty and not too spicy. And I always get the Super because it’s the same as the regular- just with chicken.
It also has quaso cheese, chips, chile ancho, avocado, sour cream, & lime. I always add extra chips in mine. It was super filling and there was no need to order anything else after our ceviche appetizer.
To drink I had the “Margarita of the week” which was called Smoky & the Bandit. It was really good .
